Katherine (Kathy) Lare Young, age 53, lost her battle with breast cancer at home in Pasadena, Texas on Saturday, Oct 11th. Born August 29, 1961 in Pasadena, she was preceded in death by her parents Harold (Shorty) and Carolyn Lare and her brother Gene Lare.

She is survived by her husband of 9 years, Michael Young; 2 sons, Chadd Sartor of Pasadena, Craig Sartor and Cassandra Borja of Deer Park; daughter Caylee Smith, husband Kevin and granddaughter Aubriegh of Pasadena; stepson Ryan Young of Deer Park; brother William (Bill) Lare and wife Brigid of Columbus, OH; sister Donna Pate and husband Melvyn (Merv) of Pasadena; brother K.C. Lare and wife Kristi of LaPorte; mother in law Janice Young; sister in law Karen Holleman and husband Larry; brother in law; Larry Young and wife Sherry; sister in law Tammie Gabbert and husband Scott; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; grand dogs Toby, Abby, Ty, and Winston.

Katherine (also known as Kathy) graduated from Sam Rayburn High School in 1980 and continued her education at San Jacinto College in Cosmetology. She continued her profession as a hair dresser until retirement in 2013 at Murphy's Retreat. She loved to cook, scuba dive, go fishing, bird watching, and spend time with her loving husband and family.

The memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. at Rosewood Funeral Home, followed by a celebration of Kathy's life at Murphy's Retreat, located at 5970 Fairmont Pkwy, Pasadena, Texas.
