Mrs. Blanca Martha Abrego (née Mata Ramirez), of Matamoros, Tamaulipas, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016 at the age of 66.
Blanca was born to parents Ramon Mata and Maria del Carmen Ramirez on February 24, 1950 in Matamoros, Tamps. She grew up with six siblings. Blanca married Clemente Escutia, and the couple had three children. They raised their children in Eagle Lake, TX. Clemente was killed in an automobile accident in 1984. Blanca then moved to Houston, TX to raise their children.
Blanca married Juan Modesto Abrego in 1986 and they had one child. Together they pursued a dream of owning a restaurant, and opened El Rancho Grande in July 1993 in Pasadena, TX.
Blanca is survived by her husband, Juan Modesto Abrego; her children Ronaldo Francisco, Dynora Alejandra, Juan Esteban and Ernest Uriel; and seven grandchildren, Luis Antonio, Jazlyn Dennise, Christopher Adam, Juanicia Jabril, Brianna Marie, Ronaldo and Marcus Lee. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ramon and Maria del Carmen; her sister Leticia; and her brothers, Pedro, Eulalio and Arturo.
A memorial visitation in her honor will be held for family and friends at Rosewood Funeral Home September 8, 2016, between the hours of 4 and 8 p.m. Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m.
