My Mom
One of my favorite stories about Mom was one my grandmother Audrey told me.
She told me that one day her little brother Thomas accidentally cut mom's foot with an axe and she said mom came running calling for Audy, Audy trying to call her mother like her daddy did. The way my grandmother described it was the funniest thing to me.
She was extremely loyal to her family, you better not have anything bad to say about them. I know she was always worried that God didn't love her parents and siblings enough, just a few weeks ago she came in the living room crying that she was worried about them not being saved and I spent about an hour calming her down and explaining to her that half the people she was talking about were already in heaven and the rest were on the're way. She was so worried about them and called them her people, sometimes I would ask her if I was one of her people because I was rarely mentioned when she did this.
Her favorite bird was the Cardinal, she would always get excited when she saw one and of course now I can't see one without her being the first thing I think of.
She really missed not being able to see her entire family more often.
She was very patient with my father when he would kneel beside the bed and pray for what seemed like 3 hours every single night and when we would spend a month at a time in the car driving all over the State of Texas and Arkansas and any where else he would think of trying to follow God and win anyone he possibly could.
When I would complain about people calling me names she loved to tell me I was enough to make a preacher cuss so get over it. That always helped, lol.
My favorite thing to hear as a child was are you ready to go visit grandma and grandpa.
Those Red dirt roads destroyed any chance I ever had of being a true cityboy and for that I will be eternally grateful.
I Love You Mom,and more than anyone can ever understand I can't wait to see you again in your new mansion.
I know in some ways it will be like the firsttime.
