Obituary for Rellim James Miller, Sr.

Rellim James  Miller, Sr.
Rellim James Miller, Sr., passed away peacefully Friday, February 17, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lucas and Dea Miller; his two brothers, Ralph and Luther Miller; and grandson, Jimmy Miller. James is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Betty; his children Faye Harold (Troy); R.J. Miller,Jr. (Lynn); Sonia Rains (Albert); step-children Pam Henson and Dale Thorp; 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. James was born in Chataigner, Louisiana and moved to Pasadena,TX where he worked at the Diamond Alkalai Plant in Deer Park. He retired after 30 years from then Diamond Shamrock. He served his country in the Navy during World War II in the Marshall Islands. He loved going to senior meetings with all those "young" seniors. He was a member of St. Hyacinth Catholic Church in Deer Park and was active in the Men's Club for many years. James was a handyman, gardener and cook and the entire family benefited from all his talents. He also enjoyed preparing "Cajun" food for the family at holidays. He was dearly loved by Betty and his family.
