Obituary for David Neal Koinm

David Neal Koinm
David Neal Koinm, 76, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Saturday, March 25, 2017 at home following a prolonged battle with cancer.

He leaves his wife of 54 years, Nancy (Davidson) Koinm, their son Steven Koinm and wife Mistie (Shook) Koinm and their children Savannah with her fiancé Jake Pryor and child Aaron, Rocky, and Jessamine; son Greg Koinm and wife Ruth (Loveland) Koinm, and their children Drake and Katrina; son Chad Koinm; sister Judy and husband Rev. Herb Stallknecht; sister Molly and husband Harold Choate; brother Jeff and wife Sandy; many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. He was preceded in death by his father Albert Koinm, mother Jewel Koinm, brother A.J., sister-in-law Ruth, and niece Gari.

Born and raised in Aldine, TX he was fortunate to meet Nancy Davidson while the two of them were on a double date. They both knew they were going to marry each other after that first meeting. Two years later in 1962, they did marry. He completed his B.S. in Geology at Lamar Tech in Beaumont, TX and a M.S. in Geology at the University of Tulsa. He lived and worked a number of years in Oklahoma City as an Exploration Geologist and as an Environmental Geologist. He and Nancy then moved back to their native Texas and he started working for the Texas Department of Environmental Quality until retiring in 2008.

He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Round Rock, loved fishing, enjoying the outdoors, and exploring the neighborhood garage sales. He was well known by all of his neighbors in Vista Oaks and he kept up with them always lending a hand whenever needed.

He was a proud father to his three sons and two daughter-in-laws and loved to spend time with them, his grandchildren, and his new great grandson. He will be missed by all of them, his numerous friends, and his extended family but he is far better off with Jesus after shedding his failing body.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to the First Baptist Church of Round Rock building campaign at fbcrr.org/give or by calling 512-255-3454.
