Betty Joe Trantham Files, age 87, entered her heavenly home on Good Friday, April 14, 2017. She was born in McCamey, Texas on May 10, 1929 and was the oldest of four children. Betty graduated from Graham High School in 1946 and her family moved to Houston and eventually settled in the North Shore area. She is survived by her children, Tom Files and wife Debbie, Moody Files and wife Diana, Lonnie Files and wife Connie, Joe Files and wife Tina, and daughter Rebecca Files; grandchildren, James Files, Christopher Files, April Files, Callie Kopecky, Jonathan Files, Melissa Massey, Thomas Files, Keri Leadon and 14 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Jane (“Sugie”) Stephens. Betty is preceded in death by her husband Thomas B. Files; parents, Robert L. and Eva Trantham; brother, Ike Trantham and sister May Fair Barnett.
Betty a/k/a Mom and Granny will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was devoted to her family. She participated in her church for many years as a teacher of Sunday School and Bible Study.
