Obituary for
Sherry Ann Trent Alturo (Trent)
Mrs. Sherry Ann Trent Alturo, 50, of Cleveland, Texas passed away on Saturday April 29, 2017 with her loving husband by her side. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 6 at 2:00 PM at Rosewood Funeral Home Chapel, 2602 S. Houston Ave, Humble, Texas.
Sherry has been a resident of the Cleveland area for almost eighteen years, where she and her husband Joe established their home and raised their daughter Jamie.
For most of those years, Sherry was a bus driver for the Tarkington Independent School District where she had many friends who shared her love of horses and appreciated her heartfelt laughter.
Sherry was an animal lover and could never resist taking in and “fostering” strays that soon became permanent members of her family. In addition to caring for her home, driving children to school, managing the care of her horses and other beloved animals, she was an avid reader and loved a good mystery. Sherry had a passion for shoes and unless on her feet, her favorite boots never left their box.
Her sudden and unexpected loss has caused a deep sadness within her family and her community. She was well loved and will be deeply missed.
Sherry is survived by her husband Joseph V. Alturo II, her daughter Jamie E. Manning, of the home; step daughters Angela M. Altamuro (Glenn) of Hockley, Texas and Kristina R. Eastman (Chad) of London, England: and was blessed with four grandchildren, Andrew J. Altamuro, Joshua M. Altamuro, Harper G. Eastman and Grant D. Eastman. Sherry was preceded in death by her mother Marion Trent.
As Sherry’s compassion for animals is one of the traits for which she will be most remembered, in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to your local animal shelter.
