Obituary for Billy Allen Brown

Mr. Billy Allen Brown went to be with the lord on Thursday, July 14, 2017. He was born on July 24, 1932, in Houston, Texas to Eloise Brown and the late Otis Brown. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife for over 46 years, Patricia Brown, and brother, Larry Brown.
Billy is survived by his mother, Eloise Brown; two sons, Glynn Brown and Phyllis Matthews, Kyle Brown and wife Marla Brown; two grandchildren, Cody and Michele Brown; and his loving companion for the last several years, Jerry Jo Adams. Billy has many nieces, nephews, dear friends and the brotherhood of former POW’s that were a special part of his life.
Billy loved his country and proudly served in the armed forces as a Marine from 1947 to 1953. He was a former POW in the Korean War from 1951-1953 where he earned two purple hearts. After returning from Korea, Billy worked in sales and later owned Copy Products, Inc. until he retired.
Billy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and loyal friend. He will always be known as “Grandad” or “Uncle Billy.” He enjoyed music, dancing, working, traveling, playing cards, attending veteran and POW reunions and spending time with family and friends. He always had a positive outlook on life with a constant glow of energy. His witty sense of humor uplifted the lives of the many people he touched.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 18, from 5:00 to 8:00 and funeral services will be held on July 19, at 2:00 pm at Rosewood Memorial Park Funeral Home (2602 South Houston Ave., Humble, Texas 77396), followed by internment.
