Obituary for Stanley Bartholomew Sikorski

Stanley Bartholomew Sikorski
Stanley Sikorski, 97, of Humble went to be with his Lord Saturday, January 5, 2019. He was born Tuesday, August 23, 1921 in Minneapolis, MN. Stanley is survived by children, Joanne Baker and husband Norman, Denise Long and husband Douglas, Ronald Sikorski and wife Glenda, Michael Sikorski. grandchildren Katie, Brian, Ron Jr, Lisa, Lori, Jason; many great-grandchildren, other family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Lena Sikorski, daughter, Karen Cox. A visitation will be Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Rosewood Funeral Home in Humble from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be 12:00 PM Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Rosewood Funeral Home in Humble. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park in Humble, Texas.

The son of polish immigrant parents, Walter and
Magdalena Sikorski, he started his life in North East Minneapolis, Minnesota. There he survived the
Depression with his four little Brothers and sister.

Stanley was a Navy man who traveled the world. He
started in the CC corp and went on to serve his
Country for 30 years. He served in The Pacific Theatre
during the war, spending time in New Caledonia and
Guadalcanal. He was assigned Independent duty
On the coastal transport APC 32. His dedication
Kept him serving while surviving
3 bouts of malaria.

He married the love of his life, Angelina (Lena) ReDavid
In Portsmouth, Virginia.
They travelled the globe living in Cuba, Italy and Spain,
but eventually making a home in Humble, Texas.

His family was his legacy and his life. He raised five
Strong children, three daughters and two sons.
This was just the beginning since they would give
Him immense joy in the form of six grandchildren
And many, many great grandchildren that he doted on.

He was known for helping all that came to his door.
Be it family, friend or stranger …all were welcome and
Given a helping hand.

After 16 years at The Port of Houston, his ‘golden years’
Were spent surrounded by his family.
He was known for his sense of humor stirring the pot…
and his love for fishing, golf and gardening… but most
especially his love of one egg over easy with hash browns
and bacon.

This is a farewell to grandpa… As he was known not only
To his own grandchildren, but to every child,
Young, and old, that had the good fortune
To meet him and love him throughout
His 97 years.
