Lewis George Vinas
Lewis (Cotton) George Vinas of Houston, Texas died on February 25, 2019 at the age of 77. He was born in Houston, Texas on March 5, 1941 to Jane Rose & Lewis T. Vinas. Cotton met and married his wife, Karleen, in 1969. They remained in Houston where he and Karleen raised their family and later enjoyed their grandchildren until his death.
Cotton attended Smiley High School in Houston, Texas where he excelled at basketball and football. He graduated high school in 1960 and soon after joined the United States Airforce where he was stationed in Roswell, New Mexico and served as an airplane mechanic. After completing his military service, he continued his career as a CNC Machinist in Houston, Texas until he retired in 1998.
Cotton had many hobbies over his lifetime. He loved fishing as well as the thrill of bull riding which he learned from his Uncle Joe and enjoyed for many years. He also loved doting on his family, especially Karleen, with his amazing cooking. In his later years he helped Karleen with her daycare where he was loved by many of the sweet babies who affectionately called him Papa Cot.

Wife of 49 years: Karleen Vinas
Children: Shonda Kamholz and husband Chuck; Tommy Vinas and Melissa; Natalie Loughlin and husband Ryan
Grandchildren: Madison Vinas, Blake Vinas, River Loughlin, Ransom Loughlin, Gracey Duncan and Lyla Duncan
Sisters: Chris Redding and Bonnie Kampf

Interment: Immediately Following Service at Rosewood Memorial Park with Military Honors by United States Air Force Memorial Team
