Obituary for Clarence R. Blue

Clarence R. Blue, 93, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at his home in Cleveland, Texas. He was born on June 28, 1926 in Birmingham, Alabama to Harvey and Ethel Blue who both precede him in death. Clarence proudly served in the United States Navy from 1944-1966. Although Clarence enjoyed his job at the railroad as an engineer he loved spending quality time with his family and he loved dancing to country music. He was also a member of: VFW Post 1839, American Legion Post 393, VFW Color Guard, Independent Order of Odd Fellows.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Blue and step-daughter, Vickie Lankford. Clarence is survived by his wife, Laura Blue; children, Marilyn Snyder and husband John of Sedalia, Missouri, Vivian Midgley and husband Graham of Kingwood, Texas, Janice Shilling and husband Kenneth of Plum Grove, Texas, Sheila Vasquez and husband Joe of Houston, Texas; sister, Virginia Davis; 5 step-daughters and spouses; 2 step-sons; numerous grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and 2 fur babies, Manny and Scooter.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Rosewood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 1, 2019 at Rosewood Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers are: Jason Shilling, Caleb Shilling, Jimmie Shilling, Micah Shilling, Jamey Bonds, Nicholas Vasquez.
