Condolence: Always enjoyed talking to Country at family gatherings over the years. He and I had managed factories in our careers, and understood each other when we talked about things that had happened during that time. Called and talked to him about 4 weeks before he passed away. It was after the last flooding and he told me he was very tired. Rest In Peace Country!
Condolence: I'm am very sad to hear of Country's passing. I am feeling under the weather this weekend, and am disappointed I am not able to attend the visitation or funeral, but I wanted his family to know I was thinking and praying for them. I met Country only once, for 45 min, when I (as KofC Regional Emergency Response Coordinator) delivered a couple $100 gift cards to him after his home flooded from TS Imelda. I really enjoyed the conversation (mostly about how he met his dear wife Mary and her passing). I could tell he was a special person who loved life and had an uncanny ability to turn strangers into newfound friends. I felt that happen to me :). He was also a GREAT storyteller. If it wasn't so late in the evening, I could have stayed there a couple more hours, easily. Anyway, I'm sad to see him pass, but I know enough about Mary now to feel good that he is back in her arms in heaven. I will treasure that 45 min! May God bless his family with His grace through this difficult time.
