What he wrote in my autograph book
When we were kids, we had these little autograph books that you had your friends write in and sign. Remember those? We'd write silly stuff on those pages! I asked Doc to sign mine one evening when he was over at my house on Lakeland Drive. He was playing poker with my dad and a bunch of other guys. He wrote in my book in his very fancy handwriting: "When the moon is on the pumpkin, and the frost is on the vine, think of your neighbors across the street, and know that they think you are sweet." I don't have that book any more, but isn't it something that I can still remember that little poem he wrote me all these years!? And when his mother Rosebud, passed away, he gave me some pearl earrings that were hers. I treasured them. I love you, Doc! Go walk with God! <3. Love, Katrinka Cook Walker
