Elvie Rae Vrana (Vaughn)
Born September 22nd 1944 in Cleveland Texas as a home birth to the parents of Randolph Allen Vaughn and Doris Elizabeth Vaughn Hudgins she peacefully passed March 15th 2016 at 5:45 am in her home in Houston Texas with all 3 of her children and husband by her side.
Elvie is survived by her LOVING husband “Douglas W. Vrana” who has ALWAYS and PROUDLY stood by her side through all the GOOD TIMES and all the BAD times of life but most especially during her declining health struggles, he LOVINGLY cared for her throughout their wonderful 49 year marriage and was right by her side when she passed. Douglas (Doug) has faithfully provided for the family through all these beautiful years of marriage and gladly took on the challenge and responsibility of raising a step son at a very early age. Other survivors include…
Son: Kenneth Ray Mungle (Kenny) and wife Myna Grace Mungle
Daughter: Tonya Sue Cline and husband James Allen Cline
Son: Kelly Wayne Vrana
Sister: Peggie Sue Ragle
Grandchildren: Brett Allen Davidson, Dalton Michael Vrana, Madison Nicole Vrana, James Richard Cline, Rachel Renee Cline, Jason Allen Noland, Nicholas Lee Noland
Great grandchildren: David Matthew Davis, Gage Allen Noland, Kennedy Reign Noland, Arabelle Grace & Ava Jean Cline.
Elvie graduated from C.E. King High School in 1962 and married Kenneth H. Mungle shortly after. Two years later, in 1964 she gave birth to her first born child, (Kenny), the marriage of Elvie and Kenneth did not last long as they were both on different paths in life, however they continued to have a friendly relationship. Elvie went on to marry Douglas Vrana who is the father of both of her other two children (Tonya and Kelly) and in a very amicable relationship the three of them, (Elvie, Douglas and Kenneth) continued to stay very close friends throughout the rest of Elvies life.
Elvie was an amazing mother, grandmother, wife and friend, she was always LOVED for her strong spirit and HUGE heart and her sincere concern for all others was one of her most wonderful traits. Along with her wonderful “world re-known” homemade macaroni and cheese”, better known as “ELVA-RONI” she LOVED to cook dinner for her family each evening. She always said that it was her job to cook dinner so that “Doug” had left overs for his lunch the next day.
Elvie was always the fabric that kept the family together and she was usually the moderator if things weren’t going so good and she was most definitely the family’s MATRIARCH. The Christmas season was always her most favorite time of the year, she was certain to make sure that even if the family had to do without throughout the rest of the year at Christmas time “NOBODY” did without!
Family time was always a very SPECIAL time for her, especially as she started with the struggle of the ongoing health issues, she LOVED it when her children and grandchildren would stop by to visit and hang out with her. She was a very caring and loving lady who would give the shirt off of her back if she knew someone who was in need. She was always the type who would do without in order to make sure someone else DID NOT do without.
Elvie always enjoyed the opportunity of getting to see any of her children or grandchildren in their sporting events or school performances or at family gatherings, although, in her later years as her health issues became worse it became much more difficult for her to partake. She used to enjoy going to the local catfish farm and fishing from the bank, she would sit in a lawn chair for hours and act like she was fishing all the while she was really watching and gazing over her family fish and have a joyous time.
Elvies time on this earth was way too short as she was only 71 years young at her passing. We will forever miss her smile, her soft touch, her loving heart and we will forever CHERISH all the BEAUTIFUL memories that were made with her!
We will always look back and remember the WONDERFUL WOMAN she was. She touched many lives in ways that she was never aware of, so please REST IN PEACE mom, until we meet again!
PLEASE SAVE US ALL A SEAT AT THE TABLE!
