Condolences

Condolence From: Ed Hetherington
Condolence: Other than Jim's brothers I guess I knew Jim the longest. I met Jim in 1964 in the 7th grade. He was the smartest guy in our class. He would become a great man and a father. He will be missed by many but especially by his family. He was so very proud of them. I will dearly miss Jim as well. Jim and I had some good times together growing up in Long Beach Miss. We got to talk about them every once in a while. We kept in touch over the years and will miss those conversations. We had talked a few weeks ago. I cannot say enough about how we all will miss him. My heart goes out to his family. I pray for GOD to support his family.

Condolence From: Debbie Stringer
Condolence: I met Jim while working for Gulf Oil Corp. in Columbia MS. He was truly dedicated to his work as a geologist. He was very pleasant and a joy to work with. Very sorry for your loss. Praying for all.

Condolence From: Alberteen H. Ball
Condolence: I am shocked and saddened by your loss. I saw Jim in January at the funeral service for our friend, Mr. Burchfield. I was elated that he recognized me (after 31 years)from a distance, called my name and said "I knew you would be here". That, to me, speaks volumes about the spirit of the man that Jim was. I pray God's strength for the family and that your memories comfort you in the days ahead.

Condolence From: John P. Skrla
Condolence: I met Jim in mid January 1977 at a Gulf Oil drill site in Baxterville Oil Field, Mississippi. That was Jim's first logging run for Gulf; and my first drilling job for Gulf. Jim developed a high level of interpretive and mapping skills. Jim freely offered, and shared his technical assistance. Over the years Jim and I kept in contact; and I'm fortunate to have been a recipient of Jim's friendship over those years.

Condolence From: Don Olson
Condolence: Met Jim in Columbia, MS, when he and I were both young geologists working together in a little field production office for Gulf Oil Corp. Lots of good memories from those days (1977). So sorry to hear of his passing -

Condolence From: Ken Mallon
Condolence: My sincere sympathies to Linda and your family. Jim and I worked in the same division at Gulf Oil years ago, and since then occasionally consulted on the same project. Jim was an excellent geologist and one of the most ethical people I've known. He will be missed by many associates and friends.

Condolence: Jim was so easy going. We consulted together on a couple of projects and he always was very thorough. The world lost a good man. Prayers of comfort to his family.

Condolence From: Phillip Jewett
Condolence: I first met Jim when I went to work with Gulf Oil in Columbia, Ms. We went our separate ways after a couple of years in Columbia, but both wound up in Houston. Jim was as fine a man as one would want to know. He loved talking about the oilfield as he and I would walk around the booths at NAPE. He was a mentor to me in my career. He also loved his wife and children. He was always telling me he had to go fix a fence or paint a room or mow a yard for one or the other of the kids. My life has been enhanced by knowing Jim. He was a friend, I will miss him. Linda, you and your children are in my prayers.
