Robert Gailor Justice passed away June 7, 2017. Gailor was born on July 4, 1936 in Nashville, Tennessee to Henry Allen and Francis Lorraine Justice. He attended Tarbox grade school before graduating from West End High School in 1954. He married Carol Lee Vermilye of Donelson, Tennessee in 1963 and moved to Denver, Colorado where he was an Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Denver. He left the academic area in 1966 and was employed by Shell Oil at their research facility in Emeryville, California. He subsequently worked for Shell at their manufacturing facilities in Houston and Wood River, Illinois where he held positions as a control specialist, a technical group leader and a process manager. He returned to Houston to work in Shell’s head office in Base Chemicals where he was a staff specialist and the Operations Manager before retiring in 1996.

Gailor lived in Kingwood, Texas since 1978 and both his children graduated from Kingwood High School. He lost his first wife to cancer in September 2000 and married Ruth Taylor Georgiades, a former administrator in the Humble ISD, in July 2003. They lived in the Kings Point area of Kingwood where Gailor enjoyed reading, woodworking and gardening, playing poker with long-time friends from Shell, keeping in touch with life-long friends from Vandy and traveling to many different states and countries around the world. He was a devoted Pa-Pa to his four granddaughters. He loved his cats, Annie, Bobby, Donny and Jeannie. He was active in Good Shepherd Episcopal Church.
