Bonnie Jean Stanford, 82, of Porter went to be with her Lord Saturday, July 15, 2017. She was born Tuesday, April 16, 1935 to Tommy "Hester" and Imogene Bruner. Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents and husband Elbert Stanford of whom she was married to for over 47 years. She is survived by her sons; Mike Heiler and wife Therese, Scott Stanford and wife Annette, Jason Stanford and wife Carmen; grandchildren, Tonya, William "BJ", Joshua, Matthew, Justin and Amanda, Luca and Nico; great-grandchildren, Ariel, Andy, Alex, Abby, Lily, Michella, Heiler, Thomas and Emma; brother,P.H. “Buddy” Bruner; and many other relatives and friends.
Bonnie was a very loving and caring woman who worked with special needs children for over twenty years at New Caney ISD. But first and foremost, she had a love for her family. She would always share with others what her kids and grandkids were involved with and the happenings in their lives. She loved making beautiful quilts by hand and put so much love and time in each quilt she created. Bonnie and her family enjoyed spending their free time at the lake for many years where she liked pulling in a catfish of any size by rod and reel. She was also known for being able to “out-shoot” not only her husband Elbert, but also every other person in the family even into her later years.
The family makes the request that in-lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation in her honor.
