Obituary for Billy Neldon Coleman

Billy Neldon Coleman
Billy “Bill” Neldon Coleman, 82, of Kingwood, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, April 8, 2018. He was born September 23, 1935 to John Thomas and Zora Lee Coleman. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, twin brother, Bobby Coleman, granddaughter, Aubree Coleman, niece, Cindy Stone, and numerous beloved brothers- and sisters-in-law. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dot Coleman, daughter, Ann Warrick of Texarkana, Texas, and sons, Billy (and wife, Liz) Coleman of Magnolia, Texas, and Kenneth (and wife, Dawn) Coleman of Humble, Texas; brother, John Paul (and wife, Margaret) Coleman of Texarkana, Texas, and sister, Sandra Works of Texarkana, Texas. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren, and many other family members and friends. Bill worked decades doing what he loved—restoring antique automobiles. He was a founder of the Pate Swap Meet, as well as the Cadillac-LaSalle Club of Houston. Bill was also a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and a Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary International Club. But, everyone who knew Bill knows that his true passion was Model A Fords. He was an original founder and lifetime member of the Houston Model A Ford Club. He not only restored hundreds of Model A Fords, he and his wife Dot owned numerous Model A’s throughout the years. Through their involvement in these car clubs and other associations, Bill and Dot forged lifetime friendships with many others who shared their passion for cars.

Bill had a smile that would light up the room, and was a joy to be around. This was apparent not only with his many friends and family, but was unmistakable with his wife, kids, and grandkids. He loved them as much as they loved him, and he will be forever missed.

2 Corinthians 5:8 “…to be absent from this body, is to be present with the Lord.”
