Ms. Molly Ruth Machenehl
Bobby Ante was one of the first people I met in my grade who attended school on the "KMS" side of Kingwood, Texas. I attended school on the "CMS" side of Kingwood. He often wanted to make me smile with jokes, funny expressions, and pleasant reminders. Because we knew some of the same people from activities in the community, we were already aquainted with each other once we entered high school at KHS. I still remember the bus ride from Kingwood to Austin and back with many from the KHS golf team our freshman year to watch the KHS varsity football team. (I did not play on the KHS golf team in high school, yet I did play occasionally with friends and fam. We had less time to visit years later as he excelled in golf). He had genuine care and concern for our KHS graduating class even before we entered high school. He often wanted to know how people were doing and was intent with me to stop malicious gossip. He "looked" past the surface of matters with "his heart" to be concerned. He enjoyed life. Before I transferred to Baylor University from Texas A&M University after witnessing a huge scam and mixup as a minor that did not make sense to many of us, I reported again some things I refused and witnessed as a young minor. I requested consumer protection as I did as a minor. I never thought I would have to say anything again after high school and never wanted to do so. I lived in Kingwood a short while before moving to Waco. Bobby Ante and I visited again. I was so glad to visit with him, as it reminded me to stand strong on those matters. Refusing what I did as a minor and going in another direction to help advocate for others saved my life. Bobby Ante personally knew what I refused and from what I walked away. His smiles often brought great joy to my heart as a reminder to persevere. He is one of the main reasons I entered into the internal audit / risk assessment profession to help advocate for consumer protection of financial info for many to help struggling businesses. He is one of the main reasons I became a teacher. He is one of the inspirations behind me entering into the school psychology profession. What he and I witnessed was a friendly inspiration for everything I have done up to this point in my life, and there is a reason I include all of that in this.
Grateful to have known him and missing my friend,
