Gary Don Hudgins was born November 17, 1941 in Memphis, Texas to David Houston and Mary Lee Hudgins. Don passed away on January 24, 2021 in The Woodlands, Texas at the age of 79. He grew up on the family ranch Dusty Hollow and attended school at Clarendon, Texas. After graduating high school, Don attended Texas Christian University and married Betty Ann Driver in 1961 and had four children from this union, Kent, Tracy, Candace and John. He worked and lived in Texas, Kansas, and Oklahoma in insurance, oil and agricultural businesses before finally settling on Lake Conroe in Willis, Texas with his wife Dorothy (Dottie). Don worked in a partnership to build a successful insurance business Elkin and Hudgins Insurance in Huntsville, TX. He and Dottie eventually moved to Kingwood, Texas where she continues to reside. He was a devoted Christian and served the Lord in his work with the Northside Christian Church in Spring, Texas. Don loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and often talked about how precious the time is we have with them. Don was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Dottie; his four children, Kent Hudgins and wife Linda, Amarillo, TX; Tracy Fredman and husband Rick, Checotah, OK; Candace Bond and husband Darron, Burns Flat, OK; John Hudgins, Newcastle, OK; his seven grandchildren, Hogan Hudgins and Clarke Hudgins and wife Krista; Alex Lemings and husband Nathan and Mariah Reimer and husband Joel; Lauren Bell and Camryn Bond; Kendra Hudgins; two great grandchildren, Kenzie and Audrey Lemings; stepsons David Young and wife Sissy and Kevin Young; and one brother David Nathan Hudgins as well as many other family members and friends. Don will be laid to rest at the Rosewood Cemetery in Porter, Tx.
