Obituary for
Brenda Savage Ivy (Savage)
Brenda Savage Ivy 74, passed away peacefully on February, 7th 2022. Brenda, or Mimi as many called her, had a contagious laugh and a smile that could light up any room. She never met a stranger, and she could be told someone’s life story while in a waiting room.
While dad went to work everyday for over 30 years, mom had the most difficult and underpaid job, the job of being a stay at home mom. She was everyone’s second mom growing up and she had the house everyone wanted to go to. She packed school lunches with the sweet notes in them and attended every school function and game. She made delicious casseroles and put entirely too much salt on most dishes. She was also the queen of mispronouncing things and making up her own “ Brenda-lingo.”
Her hobbies included spoiling her children and grandchildren, binging shows on Netflix and the Hallmark Channel and taking trips (when Michael was alive).
Brenda is survived by her children: Nathan Ivy and his wife Karen, Matthew Ivy and Sharon Garcia and her husband Jorge. Mimi’s grandchildren Nicole and Bradley Ivy and Hudson and Mia Garcia, as well as her brother, James Savage.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Michael Ivy, parents Othel and Inez Savage, and six brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held on February 11th from 2- 3:30 at Rosewood Funeral Chapel in Porter, TX, followed by graveside services officiated by Carl Etchison. A celebration of life will follow at Brenda’s home, 19394 Mersey Drive Porter, TX 77365. Food will be provided and we’ll share our wonderful memories of Brenda through the years.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the national foundation for cancer research at www.nfcr.org.
