Maria (Mary) Socorro Espinosa Rangel, 83, of New Caney, TX, passed away February 10, 2023 with her family by her side.

She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

She was born to the late Juan and Dubelza Espinosa on February 13, 1939 in Conroe, TX. Attended school in New Caney and Houston, TX and graduated from Jeff Davis High School. She completed two years at the University of Houston.

She married the late Francisco (Frank) Perez Rangel, the love of her life, on March 17, 1958. They were later married by the church on June 12, 1961. Frank and Mary lived a simple life that was filled with love and laughter. Mary is survived by her six children, Francisco Rangel & wife Debbie, Peter Rangel & wife Rebecca, Anna Rangel Musslewhite & husband Keith, Elisa Rangel Carry & fiancée Acey Jordan, Julia Rangel & husband Roger Muckelroy and Sylvia Rangel & husband Pete Tobias. Mary is survived by 24 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband in 2011.

Mary was a pillar in her community. She worked at New Caney High School for years after her children had all graduated from NCHS. She was extremely involved in her church, St. John of the Cross. She and Frank were founding members of the church and gave tirelessly to help ensure its success. She was immensely proud of all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and the love she held for each of them will shine within each of their hearts forever. She was a woman of faith and always believed in the greatness of her family.

The viewing and rosary will be held Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 5 – 8 pm with rosary beginning at 6:30, at Rosewood Funeral Home in Porter, TX. Mass Service will be held Friday, February 17, 2023 at 11am at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in New Caney, TX. Interment to follow at Rosewood Funeral Home, Porter, TX.
