Bruce was a Corporal stationed at El Toro Marine Base in Santa Ana, California, where he was an aviation mechanic. When he came home to Houston, he worked as a vending mechanic and later became a sales rep for National Vendors. He later worked as an Aviation Mechanic and traveled to several countries. Bruce was a builder and a fixer. If it wasn’t broken, he would take it apart to see how it worked and put it back
together again.
Bruce built our home in Houston and later when we moved to New Caney, he built a large 2- story cedar barn, pump house, chicken house and later built our home we lived in for 50-years. Every board had to be cut perfectly.
He also built a dune buggy and took a bunch of girls for a ride and flew over a hill and landed in the creek. Bruce had a gyro-copter that he worked on and after he got it running and went up in the air about 30-feet, he came down and sold it the next day – scary.
Bruce watched YouTube all the time and continued to watch how things were made. He had a memory like an elephant and could tell you every story about WWI and WWII; and just about any subject you wanted to talk about.
His favorite singer was Ray Price; his favorite song was Danny Boy; His last prayer to say out loud was:
Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord my soul keep
If I should die before I wake
I pray the Lord my soul to take.
God bless Frances and everyone else.
He stepped into Paradise hearing one of his favorite songs by
Ray Price – You’re The Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me.
