Robert Thompson Andress, Jr.
Robert (Bob) Andress passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 8, 2023, surrounded by his family.
Bob was born in Livingston, TX in 1939. He spent his younger years in east Texas and his adult life in the greater Houston area. Bob served in the U. S. Army and Army Reserves for 6 years and afterwards worked as a welder and a plumber. This led to roles as examiner/inspector and investigator for both the City of Houston and the State of Texas. Later in life, he dabbled in both residential and commercial real estate.
Bob met the love of his life, Mary, when they were in their 20s. One look was all it took, he was smitten and soon they were married. Bob was a thoughtful and generous man that never forgot a birthday or anniversary and took great joy in surprising Mary with little gifts, flowers and notes. Together they have two children, Wesley and Nichol’. He has two beautiful grandchildren, Paige and Gracie.
Bob believed his greatest accomplishment was the beautiful family he created with his wife, Mary. Mary cherishes the 55 ½ years they were married and was blessed to have such a kind and loving husband. Wesley and Nichol’ remember their Dad as a fun, patient and kind father who was always there when they needed him.
Bob will always be remembered for being a kind and gentle soul, an amazing husband, father, grandfather and a loyal friend. He had an infectious smile and a positive outlook on life. “Every day is a great day to be alive and enjoy life with the people you love.”
