Thelma Virginia “Ginger” Nicklas, 83 of Spring, passed away June 24, 2023. Ginger was born on December 17, 1939 to Norman and Hazel Dill and raised in Pt. Arthur, TX. She was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School. Ginger was a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Aldine where she served in the children’s department. She loved to talk about Jesus and sing all of the old gospel hymns.

Ginger is preceded in death by her son, Ferrin Nicklas, former husband of 47 years, Ralph Nicklas and sister, Lydia Halbert.

She is survived by her daughter, Raynell Caples and husband Billy, brother, Norman “Bubba” Dill, sister, Gladys Haynes and husband Bobby, numerous nieces and nephews.

Always young at heart Ginger was all about the children. Being a MeMe to her grandchildren, Kristy Lanyon, Amanda VanAlstyne, Laura Trahan, Ross Caples, Danielle Nicklas O’Brien, Joshua Nicklas, Sarah Nicklas, Rebekah Nicklas, along with 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great- grandson kept her busy and happy. We are blessed with many wonderful memories.

To honor Ginger’s memory, we are holding a celebration of life on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Rosewood Funeral Home in Humble TX at 2:00 in the afternoon. We invite you to come and share stories and memories with us.
