Alma Olene Norris (Jamison)
Olene passed away peacefully in Hemphill, Texas on August 16, 2023, at the age of 89 years. She was born on November 9, 1933, in San Augustine, Texas to Robert and Alma Jamison.
The Jamison family moved from San Augustine, Texas to Richmond, Texas and then settled in Seabrook, Texas. Olene graduated from Webster High School in 1952. After graduation, Olene moved to Houston, Texas where she worked as a Commercial Vault Teller.
She met the love of her life, Vernon Alton Norris in Houston and were married on September 22, 1956. Olene and Vernon had three children, Tamie, Vernon, and Tony. Family was very important to Olene and Vernon. The Norris family went on road trip vacations every year and always had fun.
Olene was a stay-at-home mom until the children were all in school. Olene then went to work in the cafeteria at Olson Elementary School. Years later, she went back to work as a Commercial Vault Teller at Wells Fargo Bank. She really loved counting that money.
Olene and Vernon were avid bowlers. They were members of several teams and really enjoyed bowling. Tamie, Vernon, and Tony also became bowlers. The family enjoyed bowling together as a team. Olene also loved to go to casinos to gamble. She was ready to go gambling whenever anyone mentioned it. She went to Coushatta in Kinder, Louisiana and made several trips to Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada with family and friends.
Olene loved to read romance novels. She read all she could whenever she could.

Olene was preceded in death by her loving husband Vernon A. Norris; her parents, Robert and Alma Jamison; two brothers, Billy Jamison, and Thomas Jamison; and one sister Frances Jamison Smith.

Olene is survived by her Sister, Iris Jamison Pitts, Daughter, Tamie Stubbe and husband Stephen, Son, Vernon Norris and wife Laura, and Son, Tony Norris; her grandchildren, Misti Dearbonne and husband Joe, Heather McKeegan and husband Ricky, Anthony Norris, Scott Norris, and Katelynn Glaze and husband Byron; and her great grandchildren, Alyssa Dearbonne, Casey Dearbonne, Hannah Dearbonne, Jacob McKeegan, Cadence McKeegan, Lexi McKeegan, Peyton McKeegan, Ryleigh Leech, Beau Glaze, and Owen Glaze.
