Ronald Lyn Johnson
Ronald Lyn Johnson of Porter, TX passed away on September 20, at the age of 76. He was born on February 12, 1947, in Center, TX. He and Patsy married in 1967 and were married for 56 years. Ronald was preceded in
death by his parents, William and Jewell Johnson. He is survived by his wife Patsy, daughter Melanie Lyn, and
son-n-law Allen Allgood, of Montgomery, TX. Granddaughters, Morgan, Hailee, and Cassidy; sister Betty Stephens of Houston, niece Christine Stephens; brother-n-law Harry Dawson of Knoxville, TX; and numerous
nieces and nephews.
After high school graduation in Houston, TX, he attended Sam Houston State University. Ronnie was drafted
into the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Liberia, Africa. He proudly served his country during that time
making maps of the terrain. Upon being honorably discharged, he worked as an electrician for many years.
Ronnie and Patsy became members of FBC Porter in 1980, where he served our Lord and Savior, teaching
seventh and eighth grade boys Sunday School class; worked on special effects and made props for choir
productions. He retired from TX Department of Criminal Justice as an electrician.
His favorite hobby was wood working and making gifts for friends and family. For many years he was known as
the expert, or know-it-all, of Christmas Lights in his neighborhood and was lovingly teased as being the
Christmas Lights Police.
