Fannie Mae Bickford
Fannie Mae Bickford was born in Gorman, TX on January 1, 1921. She passed away peacefully in her home this past Monday, October 23, 2023. She lived a blessed 102 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bickford; daughter, Thelma Wilson Duarte; Great- great-grandson, William Lahr; her parents, Spurgen and Gladys Hamilton; brother JB Hamilton.
She is survived by daughter, Kathy Abernathy of Humble, TX; Grandchildren, Gaylen Wilson and wife Kathy of Columbus, OH; DeLisa Crowl and husband Ernest of San Antonio, TX; Alyssa Abernathy and Andres Jacome-Alvarez of Houston, TX. Great-grandchildren, Matthew Wilson, Lizzie Lahr, Andrew Wilson, Sarah Webb, Kendra Crowl, Brooke Crowl. Great-great-grandchildren, Louise, Henry, and Jack Wilson; Conrad Lahr.
Charles and Fannie met in 1940 at Irvington Pentecostal Church where she was visiting after moving to Houston. They were married six weeks later on September 14, 1940. They were married for sixty-two years. They had their first daughter Thelma on April 9, 1944; and then their daughter Kathy on December 12, 1955. They moved to their current house in 1967.
