Obituary for
Robert V. Ante
Thomas and Julia gave birth to Robert Vasquez Ante on January 5, 1939. He was born and raised in Houston, TX, with eight brothers and sisters: Tony, Tom, Edmund, Richard, Johnny, Carmen, Theresa, and Eddie. He also had two siblings who unfortunately passed away as infants. At the age of fourteen, he met the love of his life, Juanita, at a quinceañera, where they were paired together. They would go on to marry each other on May 5, 1962, and begin to raise a family. Robert was a loving father to Melissa and her husband, Chris; Melanie and her husband, Jim; and Bobby. They went on to start families of their own. He felt blessed to be a grandfather to Brandon; Melissa and her husband, Colt; James; Mary Katherine; Audrey; Mary Therese; and Robert. He even became a great-grandfather to Clark, Matthew, and Connor.
Robert was a devout Catholic, and throughout his life he continually poured his faith and values into all his family and friends. Everyone appreciated his generosity, selflessness, love, devotion, and loyalty. Family was important to him. He was always there for the big moments, the little moments, and everything in between.
Outside of his family life, Robert had many accomplishments. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for several years, as many of his family members had done before him. Robert also worked for R.W. Smith & Co., a shipping and freight forwarding company, for fifty years. During his time with the company, he worked his way up and would retire as co-owner and Executive Vice President.
On November 21, 2023, Robert Ante passed away. He is forever reunited with his wife, son, mother, father, and siblings in Heaven. While his family deeply misses him, they are comforted in knowing that he is now in a better place.
