Reada was a strong independent Christian who endured many hardships through her life. She lived through the Great Depression and sacrificed her education so she could help provide for her mother and younger siblings. She picked cotton and took any job that would help to enable her younger siblings to attend school.
She married Jim Black at the age of 18 and together they had 6 children. She also played a vital role in raising 4 stepchildren and a few of her younger siblings.
After her children were grown she lived independently until she was in her 80s. If her sight and hearing had not deteriorated she would have been independent until her death. She moved in with her son Cecil and daughter in law Debbie, who lovingly provided care for her until her death. Her family will forever be in their debt for the love and care they provided. Reada was a remarkable woman who overcame adversity with strength and faith. There was never a job too hard for her to accomplish. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
