Obituary for Nancy Lee Bollier (Gardner)

Nancy Lee Bollier (Gardner)
Proverbs 31:25,26 Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

Nancy Lee Bollier passed away peacefully at home in Porter, Texas, on December 18th, 2023. She was 80 years old. Nancy was born in Amarillo, Texas on June 1, 1943, to James Lee Gardner and Alice (Brown) Gardner. She was the youngest of 10 children.

Nancy was raised in Amarillo, Texas and loved to attend Sunday School as a child. She went to Palo Duro High School, where she sang in the chorus.Nancy was professionally accomplished. She worked as an Executive Assistant at Air Liquide America from 1986 to 2006. She then worked as a Regulatory Analyst at EnerVest Operating from 2006 to 2015, from which she retired. But her favorite legacy would be the many children she blessed as a Sunday School teacher, and then a Kindergarten teacher at Gospel Assembly Christian School and Friendship Harbor Christian School.

At the age of 18 Nancy moved to Houston, Texas to be with her sister Myrna. It was then that she gave her heart and life to Jesus. She would serve Him the rest of her life, attending the Gospel Assembly in Houston. Her relationship with her Lord was her mainstay and she wrote numerous poems and songs to honor Him.

Nancy loved God, her husband Weldon, her puppy Bella, her family and friends, and Texas. She was an excellent cook and seamstress, and a talented pianist and singer. She enjoyed following baseball, working in her garden, and listening to music. Favorites were “My Tribute” by Andrae Crouch, and anything by Cody Johnson – especially about Texas.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband Weldon Bollier; daughters Alice Hill and husband Tim; Rebecca Gholson and husband Frank; granddaughters Charity Gholson and husband Fred, DeeAna Carr and husband Brett; grandson Austin Hill; bonus daughters TaWanna Budd and husband James; LaDana Thorne and husband Keith; bonus grandsons Timothy Budd, Joshua Budd and wife Madalyn; Jakin, Jediah and Jordan Thorne; bonus great-grandson Jaden; sister Myrna Hamilton; sister-in-law Ellen Gardner, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents James Gardner and Alice Shipley: brothers Lawrence, Gene, and Thomas (Toby) Gardner; sisters Floris (Flo) Greenwell, Ruth Lent, Anna Elizabeth (Betty) Attyd, Roberta Wyatt, and Treva Gilbert.

Nancy loved deeply and was deeply loved. She made everyone feel that they were special to her. She will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
