James “Jim” Paul Kelley Sr, 89, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024, in Houston, Texas, after a long, fulfilling life serving the Lord Jesus Christ. He was born June 14, 1934, in Cushing, Oklahoma, to William Joseph and Elsie Catherine Gripkey Kelley.

After graduating high school, he attended junior college and Oklahoma University studying accounting before moving to Houston, Texas. He worked for over 35 years for General Electric as an accountant and retired in 1993. Jim married the love of his life Carole Hunt Kelley on March 17, 1961, and they were happily married nearly 63 years. He faithfully served in Christian ministry as a minister of the Gospel and in other various roles. Jim was a kind, compassionate man of God who left a legacy of love for God, his family, and others. He was known for sharing the love of God to all who crossed his path.

Jim is survived by his sister - Eleanor Huacuja, his wife - Carole Kelley, his son - James Paul Kelley Jr and his wife Renee, his son-in-law - Leland LaMaster, his granddaughters - Leah Kelley, Olivia Salazar and her husband Gilbert, Sarah LaMaster, Heather Kelley, Hollie Kelley, Harmony Kelley, his great-grandsons - Roland Salazar and Weiland Salazar, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents - William J. Kelley Sr and Elsie Kelley, his brother - William “Bill” Kelley Jr, his daughter - Eve LaMaster, and his son - Flynn Kelley.

A celebration of life gathering for Jim and reception will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Rosewood Funeral Home Jessie Faye Fields Chapel, 7908 Rankin Road, Humble, Texas, 77396.
