Mishael Ethredge Norris Jr.
Mishael (Mitch) Ethredge Norris Jr., 98, of Humble, passed away on January 13, 2024. Mr. Norris is preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Norris and daughter Joy Vyoral. He is survived by his son Robert “Buddy” Norris & wife Bobbi, son-in-law Edward Vyoral, grandchildren, Austin Norris & wife Amanda, Justin Tessandori & wife Tomomi, Mishaelle Vyoral, Michael Vyoral, great grandchildren, Haden Vyoral & wife Halee, Millia Norris, Remi Norris, great great grandchildren Brooke Vyoral, Luke Vyoral, along with many nieces, nephews and a host of loving friends and other family members.
Mitch worked at many jobs throughout his life. At an early age, he roughnecked and drove trucks in the oilfield, became a certified welder, maintenance manager, machinist, and built oilfield rigs with Brown Services in Humble. He was not one to take to retirement easily and in his 70’s, drove the first Humble Senior Citizens bus shuttling retirees to and from their local destinations. He had a passion for 42 dominos and would quickly correct anyone on the subject of dominos, “It’s not dominos unless it is the game of 42.” He often teased the grandkids telling them he did not like peanut butter and did not like anyone who did, the whole time with them knowing he loved them dearly. He loved his family and welcomed everyone.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, January 18, 2024 in the Chapel of Rosewood Funeral Home in Humble with Rev. Larry Dangerfield officiating. Interment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park in Humble. Visitation will be held 5:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday, January 17, 2024.
