Obituary for Lynch Hightower

Lynch Hightower passed away on January 14, 2024.

He was born in Mt. Vernon Texas on April 7, 1945, to Prentiss and Leona Hightower. Lynch grew up in Stanton, Texas, and graduated from Stanton High School. He then attended Texas Tech University where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration on December 20, 1969.

Lynch worked at Williamson Washing Machine Supply located in Lubbock, Texas; Albuquerque, NM; and El Paso, Texas, where he met the love of his life, Sandy Williamson. Lynch then became owner of Williamson's before moving to Houston in 1986 to start Best Wash, Inc. He was the Commercial Laundry Distributor for Maytag, Whirlpool, and ADC for years before retiring and then passing the extra-large shoes to fill on to his daughter and son-in-law Rhonda and James West.

Lynch loved Blue Bell ice cream and to watch football any chance he had, but his love of Red Raider sports was the topic of many of his conversations. Lynch never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face. His stature was overwhelming at first glance until you got to know the big teddy bear that was inside that gentle giant just waiting to give you a big hug. Lynch loved his grandchildren and loved to attend every event that they were in. He was their biggest fan and loudest voice from every sideline.

Lynch could fix anything and was not afraid to tell you when it was not right. He was always stern but fair in everything that he did. He loved adventure whether it was riding dirt bike enduros with the West Texas BoonDocker's, driving boats, jet skiing, skiing on White River Lake, snow skiing in Ruidoso, or camping in Fun Valley, Colorado. He made sure that his kids enjoyed every moment.

He was a proud American and everyone around him knew it. Lynch was a strong believer in Jesus and was not afraid to share it.

Lynch is preceded in death by his mother, Leona; father, Prentiss; brother, Lyndon; brother, Gaylon; brother, Don; and son, Shane Hightower. Lynch is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sandy Hightower; his daughters, Rhonda West & Stacy Caster; sons-in-law, James West and Randal Caster; grandchildren, Raquel Caster, Reesen Caster, Briahna West, Brody West; sister, Brenda Snider and brother-in-law John Snider, as well as many cousins and other extended family.

Lynch's funeral arrangements are:

Visitation on Friday, January 19th, 2024 from 5-8pm at Rosewood Funeral Home (2602 South Houston Ave, Humble, TX, 77396).

Funeral Service is on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 10:00am at HighPoint Fellowship Church (12308 HWY 59, Splendora, TX, 77372). There is a lunch after the service and then burial will take place back at Rosewood at 2pm.
