Condolence: Alice - Eugene was a friend of mine in high school. He was well liked by everyone. Several years ago, I found out my niece's husband (John Mayes) worked for Eugene. Never saw Eugene at reunions, except at our 50th. Just as we were sitting down to eat, saw him across the room, and went over to say hello. We only talked for a minute or two, when they asked everyone to find their seat. My wife had just had back surgery and we had planned to leave after eating. A couple of years later I was working on a new plant in Baytown, only a few miles from El Toro Rest & Eugene's office. Over the next 12 months, I went by his office 4 or 5 times, & he had always "just left". Sad we did not get that time together.
Condolence: Mr. Ybarra was one of the kindest men I had ever met. I worked for my brother at his law office in Baytown and Mr. Ybarra would come in every now and then. We began a conversation once regarding my upcoming mission trip to Mexico. We were just talking but before he left he gave me an offering for the trip. It was so kind of him, so unexpected but from that day forth...I knew God had people in the Kingdom and he was one of them. I was aware he also helped found and build several churches. My deepest condolences. The world has lost a great humanitarian.
