For the past 44 years, Gary has been a wonderful brother-in-law and friend. Probably more brother than brother-in-law. We have laughed together, gone to ball games, sat on the porch at the farm and enjoyed life together. On the night before he died, he told me that he hated to see the sun go down because it was so lonely in the hospital at night. I drove downtown that night and we sat a while and we talked into the night about the first time we met back in 1972 and pretty much everything that has transpired since then. We laughed a lot, cussed a little bit, cried some and then said goodbye. I treasure that I was with him as the sun went down on that night. I will miss you Gary and your big ol' booming laugh.
