USMC Days

I hope that what I am sharing does no harm to anyone of my Familey or Friends. This is a short story about two young men lost in this World.

I remember one day in 1972 or 1973 when I was in Oceanside California. I was downtown walking down the street and looked across the street and saw you. Cant remember if I saw you first our you saw me. Being cosinnse from Michigan it was hard to believe that you would see some one from your familey so far away from home. Back then we traveled around on buses to and from Camp Penalton. At the time you were getting out of the Marines and I had a year or longer left. I was stationed with the Ist Marine Divition at the time, and you were at the Main part of camp going threw the seperation process. Anyway we got a couple bottles of Wine and did as young Marines did and got drunk. We were on base when this hapened and out in the middle of a training field. We were both scared we get cought by the Military Police.

We were young and foolish then. But I remember whet Jesus said on the cross before his death. Father forgive them they know no bwtter. Brother Gary that was us. A couple of drunk Marine kids. I know you are in a better place know. SEMPER FEDELIS GOD BLESS
